Other Constitutional Issues
WROTE A LEGAL OPINION THAT GOVERNOR ABBOTT COULD NOT BAR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS FROM REQUIRING FACE MASKS DURING COVID. The judgment was authored in the Third Court of Appeals (2022) and overturned by the Texas Supreme Court (2023).[1][2][3]
SAYS THE TEXAS LEGISLATURE CREATED A NEW APPELLATE COURT for Attorney General cases that had been in the Third Court, and that Abbott said it was done “to take it from the liberal justices on the third court of appeals.” She calls that political and says the last stop is the state Supreme Court.[1]
